The president of the National Assembly elected in 2015, Dinorah Figuera, responded in social networks to a question asked by the national coordinator of Voluntad Popular, Leopoldo Lópéz, regarding the statements made in recent days by the opposition representative in the US, Fernando Blasi, in which he asked the United States to ease sanctions on Venezuela to prevent become a second Cuba.

When asked by López so that Figuera would specify whether or not he agreed with the position put forward by Blasi in an interview, Figuera pointed out to the politician with the orange awning that the 2015 National Assembly and the opposition in general come from a “wrong path”. » to make decisions of a personal nature and without consultation.

In this sense, he stressed that they are currently focused on making decisions collectively and said that, although it is done uphill, it is the democratic way in which things should be done and for this reason he invited him to get involved in this practice. .

The founder of the Popular Will party (VP), Leopoldo Lopez, asked the United States (USA) for greater support for the Venezuelan opposition. He asserted that “there is no way to win the fight for democracy and freedom” if the North American nation does not lead it.

The statement was made on Tuesday, March 28, before the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, led by Democratic legislator Bob Menéndez. He denounced that Nicolás Maduro remains in power due to the support of the “enemies” of the US.

Subsequently, the current representative of the Venezuelan opposition in the United States, Fernando Blasi, urged the Biden administration to relax oil sanctions against the government of Nicolás Maduro or risk the socialist country becoming another Cuba, warning that the country “will become a problem for politicians in Florida to win the election… That would be an extremely sad fate for a country.”

Then, Dinorah Figuera He stressed that Blasi’s statements were made in a personal capacity and do not reflect the position of the 2015 National Assembly. However, he stated that plurality and consensus converge in the opposition parliament, elements that are essential in his opinion to move forward.
