Minister Flávio Dino, of the Federal Supreme Court, ordered the suspension this Friday (3) of payments for parliamentary amendments to non-transparent Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).
The decision comes after a report from the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) showed that 13 of them do not adequately monitor the use of public money, while they should present all information transparently on their respective websites.
Dino also ordered the CGU to carry out more detailed audits of these 13 NGOs and present the reports within 60 days. Another nine NGOs, which had incomplete information, were ordered to make the necessary adjustments within 10 days.
The minister also ordered the registration of entities in the Registry of Disreputable and Suspended Companies systems and on the list of Barred Private Non-Profit Entities.
Among those analyzed, four entities promote transparency of information adequately, considering accessibility, clarity, detail and completeness, while seven did not receive resources in the period analyzed, between 2020 and 2024.
The Senate and the Chamber need to comment on the CGU report within 10 days before the Attorney General’s Office can then analyze it.
The Federal Attorney General’s Office has five days to inform the ministries that new transfers should not be made to the aforementioned organizations.
In total, 33 non-profit entities were analyzed.
