President Dina Boluarte’s spokesman, Fredy Hinojosa, explained to the press that the official vehicle known as the ‘cofre’ was in Chilca due to a private visit by the president, related to family activities in the south of Lima. This clarification comes after rumors that the car had been used to transport Vladimir Cerrón, leader of Peru Libre, who is a fugitive from justice.
Hinojosa categorically denied these versions, stating that the car was used exclusively for the president’s personal purposes. He also invalidated the report submitted by the company CoviPerú to the Oversight and Comptroller’s Commission, led by Congressman Juan Burgos.
Fredy Hinojosa questions the Public Prosecutor’s Office
The presidential spokesman took the opportunity to criticize the work of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, pointing out the leak of information given to that entity. Hinojosa warned that this is sensitive data whose dissemination could endanger President Boluarte since it would involve sensitive content.
In this context, he said that he decided to answer the journalists’ questions because the identity of the vehicle involved had even been revealed. He stressed that, in an act of “transparency”, they had chosen to clarify the facts in a public conference.
