As Peru21 advancedPresident Dina Boluarte was summoned tomorrow to testify to the Public Ministry for the deaths registered during the violent protests of December and last January, after the coup d’état by Pedro Castillo.
The diligence will begin at 9:00 am, according to sources consulted by this newspaper.
Boluarte is being investigated in this case and it would be the first time that she will submit to the interrogation that will be in charge of the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavides.
This newspaper reported thatThe president excused herself up to three times from going to the fiscal headquarters, in downtown Lima.
The ruler wanted to testify virtually, alleging that she prioritized her safety over the demonstrations. However, Benavides again summoned her in person.
Last week, the head of state assured that she will go to the Prosecutor’s Office. In this process, the premier Alberto Otárola is also investigated.
