The president Dina Boluarte He addressed all Peruvians in a New Year message in which he highlighted the economic stability of the country and the success of the APEC forum that was held this year in our country and the inauguration of the port of Chancay. However, he avoided giving further details about citizen insecurity, one of the main reasons for his very low approval, according to surveys.
The president began her message by referring to the alleged media attacks that she had received and that did not “break” her. This would be a reference to the cases for which he is being investigated, along with his closest circle.
“However, adversity did not stop us Peruvians who deeply love our country. Nor did they break this president or our government, because we knew that we had to demonstrate, with intense work and in the best way, without corruption, prioritizing the neediest,” he said at the beginning.
He continued his speech by recounting the achievements of his government, highlighting economic stability and announcing growth of 3% by 2025.
“If the year 2024 was the year of economic recovery, 2025 will be the year of consolidation and greater economic growth. That is why we project growth greater than 3% for the year 2025, which could be better if there is confidence and we decide stop shooting ourselves in the feet and creating storms in a glass of water,” said the president.
“Peru has to continue moving forward. Let us not allow differences, nor political revenge, or personal or group interests, to paralyze the country as happened in other moments in history. Let us build a stronger Peru… far from speculation , the conjectures, the transcendences and the pettiness. In the year 2025, the year of consolidation and economic growth, of the continuation of the export projection to the world, let us lay the foundations for a better future together,” he added.
