Dina Boluarte for protests: "To all of Peru, please, I ask for calm and tranquility"

The president made a request for calm and social peace to all Peruvians after the death of eight citizens in the midst of protests in Andahuaylas, Apurímac, where social violence and acts of vandalism are increasing every day.

“Please calm down, this situation that mourns the country for the death of our compatriots hurts me. I am also the mother of two children. I don’t want to go through this situation, ”said the president as she left the National Institute of Ophthalmology (INO), where they operated on an adolescent victim of these acts of violence.

DO NOT USE RUBBER BULLETS

After the National Police announced the use of rubber bullets this morning, the president emphatically disavowed it: “I made a call not to use lethal weapons, not even rubber pellets. I have already given indications to identify those who made use of these weapons”.

“We have spoken with the Public Ministry so that it can empower the Prosecutor’s Office in Andahuaylas, and identify people who were calling these attitudes above the right to protest,” he said.
