“It is easy to criticize and speak lies, to write on social media and always complain. Peruvians on the coast, in the mountains and in the jungle know that we are working for them,” he said on Wednesday.
In this regard, Boluarte indicated that work is being carried out “immediately on land and in the air” and noted that aircraft have transported more than 30,000 liters of water to control the flames.
The head of state also said that during her trip to Amazonas she spoke with authorities in the Florida district, in the province of Bogara, to finalize details for the arrival of aid.
“We are close to them. To those who want to divide us, we say that their lies no longer have any effect on the population, because it is the facts, our facts, that speak for themselves. We respond with concrete actions, with affection and responsibility towards our population. To those who lie, I say: less rhetoric and more action,” he said.
“I don’t need your tears”
However, the president’s trip to Amazonas was not entirely peaceful. After finishing her statements to the population and authorities of the region, Boluarte was approached by the journalist from Panamericana, Luis Chuqui, who was moved by the tragic situation that the country is experiencing due to forest fires.
“President, my tears have traveled internationally to ask for your presence,” the journalist told her.
However, Boluarte, far from being moved, told the journalist that he did not need his tears.
“I don’t need your tears, sir, we are here to serve you,” responded the President of the Republic.
