The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, Through a message to the Nation, he apologized for the social crisis situation that has occurred in different parts of the country and has left several deaths. But he recognized that a democratic state “should not allow the right to protest to be abused.”
“I apologize for this situation and for what has not been done to avoid these tragic events,” he said during his message to the Nation.
“A democratic state must recognize and guarantee the right to protest, but in no way must it allow this right to be abused,” he added.
In another part of her speech, the president revealed that her government confirmed the entry of firearms through southern Peru.
“Hoday we know that a type of firearms and ammunition would have entered through the south of the country, those are the ones that could have caused the deaths of our compatriots, to be investigated, but I must be emphatic in pointing out that this type of ammunition does not use the National Police or the Armed forces”he expressed.
He added that the citizen’s claim is fair, but not that “The brothers from the south cannot even go out to the streets to spend a moment with their families.”
