Dina Boluarte allegedly removed Hania Pérez from Cuellar for alleged meetings with Otárola

Hania Perez de Cuellar He stopped leading the Housing, Construction and Sanitation portfoliothe last Tuesday of September 3. Weeks before, PNP agents who make up the Intelligence Directorate of Home Office (Digimin) would have been followed by orders of the president Dina Boluarteas revealed by the weekly Hildebrandt en sus Trece.

In one of those inspections, the agents reported that the former minister met, at least once, with the Former Prime Minister Alberto Otárolaaccording to the aforementioned media outlet. This finding was communicated to the head of state, who decided to remove Pérez de Cuellar from his post.

Before that, she ordered the Digimin to keep an eye on her. The reason? According to the weekly, a few weeks ago Pérez de Cuéllar requested a meeting with Boluarte to warn him about alleged irregular handling in the execution of some infrastructure works. Upon hearing this, the president thought that Hania was trying to intimidate her and, then, she ordered that she be kept under surveillance.

Dina Boluarte removed Hania Pérez de Cuellar from the Ministry of Housing.

Dina Boluarte distrusted Pérez de Cuellar because of his meetings with Harvey Colchado

This is how a disagreement ended that began many months ago when, in a report by Cuarto Poder, it was revealed that The former head of Housing held meetings with the former head of Diviac, the Colonel PNP Harvey Colchado in a safe house in Diviac, in Surco.

The meetings took place on at least five occasions between December 2022 and April 2023, in which Hania asked the police officer to investigate a series of officials from the ministry she led, whom she suspected could be involved in acts of corruption.

The first meeting took place during the third week of December 2022, already withPeter Angleoutside the PCM and withAlberto Otárolaas her replacement. According to Pérez Arroyo, at the meeting the minister expressed concern about the future appointment of the head of SEDAPAL, who had been recommended by Nicanor Boluarte. She had expressed her distrust of the person suggested and requested that he be investigated. It was Héctor Piscoya Vera, who finally kept the position.

This was indicated by Colchado’s lawyer, Miguel Pérez Arroyo: “I did not trust that recommendation. Therefore, if I did not trust that recommendation, I would have consulted an honest police officer about previous investigations. Or some kind of open investigation or whatever,” he said. He also explained that the meeting ended with the promise that they would meet again. Pérez de Cuellar allegedly told him that he would bring him more information from other officials.

The second meeting took place at the end of January. Cabinet member Otárola brought a list of resumes of several Ministry of Housing officials of whom she had suspicions and wanted to be investigated. Between March and July 2023, the minister and the police officer met about three times, always in secret and at the safe house in Surco.

When these meetings became public knowledge, the minister would have begun to lose the confidence of the president, Hildebrandt explained in his Trece.

This distrust increased when the alleged meetings between Hania Perez de Cuellar and Alberto OtárolaFinally, the presidential discontent increased with the latest statements of the former minister in which she asked the citizens of Juliaca to pray for public officials so that they would not be tempted to steal.

“I ask you with profound humility to pray, to pray for all the authorities so that we do not falter, so that we are not tempted to steal,” he said.
