The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic unveiled a new provision that will benefit users of digital wallets: they will no longer need a tdebit card to associate with a bank account.
In this sense, The agency reported that “users of digital wallets will have the option of associating them directly with their bank accounts or virtual accounts, without the need for a Debit“. In this way, the requirement of said document.
In addition, the objective is to “incentivize electronic means of payments” since not all people have Debit And, therefore, it was an impediment when it came to paying or buying a product.
In turn, the measure will take effect from November 29 and the entire system will become interoperable through QR codes. Therefore, merchants and consumers will benefit.
In this regard, those who offer to pay by QR code will no longer have to operate with a single provider but will be able to accept payments from any wallet that has a QR code reader.
The virtual debit card
The coronavirus pandemic and isolation accelerated the virtualization process and, in this context, the Central Bank launched the Transfer 3.0 program to standardize the payment system in the country.
“They expand the range of collection options and reduce the use of cash in the store, resulting in lower expenses and greater security. They also improve the reconciliation of payments ”, highlighted the BCRA.
Finally, the new system includes the possibility of opening savings banks without physical presence in bank branches, so there will be the virtual option. In addition, customers will be able to access ATMs by generating withdrawal orders directly from the application.
