Digital vote: Registration deadline expires December 13

Digital vote: Registration deadline expires December 13

Until this Saturday, December 13, citizens have a deadline to register and participate in the new modality of digital voting that the National Office of Electoral Processes (Onpe) has been enabled as a new modality of suffrage.

This new modality is aimed at prioritized groups that could pay through electronic means, guaranteeing greater accessibility and ease of participation.

Registration is open to members of the Armed Forces and National Police, Peruvians residing abroad, health personnel, firefighters, electoral officials (JNE, Reniec, Onpe), people with disabilities and qualified citizens whose address appears in the Cercado de Lima registry.

Those who wish to register must enter the official portal https://votodigital.onpe.gob.pe/ and must have an electronic DNI (DNIe), current digital certificates and the ONPEiD application to validate your identity.

The Onpe will notify the confirmation of registration between December 14 and January 5, 2026, and those confirmed will be able to practice with the system between January 15 and April 10. Those who register for digital voting will maintain this modality in an eventual second round.

CHOOSE YOUR VOTING LOCATION UNTIL SUNDAY

In this same framework, another deadline that expires is that of the election of the voting location. On Sunday, December 14, 2025, the estimated time for Peruvians to select the place where they will vote ends.

To date, according to information from Onpe, more than 2 million citizens have already used the platform https://eligetulocal.onpe.gob.pe/ to select your options, in order to vote as close as possible to your home and reduce time and costs on election day (April 12, 2026).

Voters can carry out the procedure from a mobile device or a computer, validating their identity with their ID and answering personal questions. The ONPE will assign the definitive location in March 2026.

The high participation has meant that, in some districts, 43 stores have already reached their maximum capacity.
