BPS will add more than 30,000 beneficiaries to the Ibirapitá Program
Starting August 1, the Ibirapitá Program for digital inclusion for senior citizens of the Social Security Bank (BPS) will add among its beneficiaries people who receive Old Age Assistance and survivors’ pensions. The president of the organization, Alfredo Cabrera, indicated that the integration of these two groups means adding some 33,000 potential users to the 40,000 who already use the plan.
Cabrera explained that the program is aimed at some 40,000 beneficiaries, and that with the inclusion of two groups such as those benefiting from Old Age Assistance and survivors’ pensions, it will be able to reach some 33,000 more users.
To date, the program is only made up of retirees and pensioners. The board of directors of the organization approved the incorporation of the groups mentioned in its meeting on Tuesday 10th. The new conditions will come into effect as of next August 1st, it indicated.
People who receive a pension, the Old Age Pension or any of the aforementioned benefits, who are over 65 years of age, who are not in active employment and whose monthly income does not exceed 5 benefit and contribution bases (BPC) will be able to have a smartphone free of charge and the Antel Ibirapitá Mobile Plan. People whose income exceeds 8 BPC, meanwhile, can only access the data plan.
The Ibirapitá Mobile Plan includes 10 gigabytes for surfing the Internet, 10 gigabytes for doing so on Antel TV, 50 minutes for making calls to Antel landlines and mobiles, and 50 text messages for Antel phones. In addition, it offers the Ibirapitá Recharge with more benefits.
Those holders who meet the conditions to access the benefits will be able to do so by appearing in person at Antel branches throughout the country.
