Digesett will carry out accident prevention operations during the Christmas season

Barahona.-The General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transport (Digesett)has deployed night operations in order to strengthen road safety and accident prevention on streets, highways and avenues in Barahona.

The director of the entity in Barahona, Lieutenant Colonel Montero, ordered these operations to be carried out within the plan carried out by the transport authorities to reduce to a minimum the number of accidents during the Christmas holidays.

According to the entity, the agents will be reinforcing the roads at night to safeguard lives and avoid traffic accidents, at the entrance and exit at the military checkpoint of Santa Elena and Cabral Crossing of the National Police and central parts of the Province .

The purpose is that during the day and at night, drivers drive at a moderate speed and that heavy vehicles respect the disposition to transit at the end of the lane to the right of public roads. As long as motorcycle drivers wear their protective helmet.

“The Digesett works to avoid accidents, prevent mishaps due to lack of lights on motorcycles, cars, trucks, (heavy vehicles), buses that carry out different activities during the night,” he said.
