Santo Domingo.– The General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (DIGESETT) reinforced the preventive days of alcoholimetry in different parts of the country, including George Washington Avenuein the National District; the municipality of San José de Ocoa and Santiago de los Caballerosas part of its permanent actions to preserve lives on public roads.
Weekend results
During the operations carried out last weekend, they were verified 544 citizensof which 139 drivers They tested positive for alcohol. Of that total, 66 exceeded the allowed limit for the Law No. 63-17 on Mobility, Land Transportation, Transit and Road Safety.

Withholdings and detentions
As a result of these interventions, the authorities They detained 15 motorcycles and 12 vehicleswhile seven people were arrested for incurring offenses that represented a risk to road safety and the integrity of other road users.

The DIGESETT reiterated that these days have a preventive and educational natureoriented to educate drivers about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and promoting a culture of respect for traffic rules.
