Guzmán Peralta pointed out that the population “is more aware” of the importance of respecting the rules, although he assured that they still have the challenge of complying with the strategic plan that seeks to reduce deaths from traffic accidents by half by 2030.
The Dominican Republic ranks first in the world with mortality from traffic accident injuries per 100,000 inhabitants for 2019, according to World Bank data.
