President Andrés Manuel López Obrador exonerated former President Enrique Peña Nieto for the disappearance of the 43 students from the Isidro Burgos Rural Normal School in Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, in September 2014.

He also outlined Admiral José Rafael Ojeda Durán, Secretary of the Navy; “He has no involvement in this matter (…) those who do not want to force us, because Admiral Ojeda was head of the naval zone in Acapulco.”
“They know that these are decisions that were made at the central level and that the Secretary of the Navy, like the Secretary of Defense, has intelligence agencies for special tasks. It is proven that those who participated in the garbage dump, the sailors who are acting, who appear in the shots (of the video recording), and who gave the orders, are acting from central offices, from here, ”he added, without greater precision. .
And he reiterated that the senior marine commanders, especially the person responsible for the aforementioned operation, have already given their statement to the Attorney General’s Office, as well as that the GIEI will continue its investigations for another year.
