The deputy director of the Melo Hospital, Dr. Pablo Acosta, resigned
He questions the lack of a human approach in management and exposes multiple projects promoted during his brief period in office
Dr. Pablo Maximiliano Acosta Ducatelli officially presented this Monday, after completing his leave period, his resignation from the position of deputy director of the Melo Hospital, a function that he had assumed in April 2025 by appointment of ASSE. In an extensive letter addressed to the highest authorities of the organization and the healthcare center, the professional bases his decision on profound differences with the direction of management and on what he defines as a loss of ethical and human values within the hospital.
In the text, Acosta recognizes the honor of having been summoned for the function, but points out that the magnitude of the structural problems, added to budgetary limitations and certain internal practices, ended up making its continuity unfeasible. Despite this, he highlights a wide range of initiatives promoted during his management, many of them aimed at the well-being of officials, quality of care and a paradigm shift in public health.
Among the main actions mentioned are the coordination with SAME 105, the creation of new specialized polyclinics, the strengthening of occupational health, proposals in mental health, education, institutional communication, clean energy, recycling of hospital waste and the formation of technical and user committees, among other projects.
However, the now former deputy director admits a “reluctance in action” and expresses a critical look at the current institutional climate of the hospital, slipping in a strong ethical reflection on the management of the center.
Among the most significant phrases of the letter are:
• “I accepted without delay, knowing that the task was and is of enormous magnitude.”
• “The officials are not responsible for the debacle that the hospital is experiencing today.”
