The journalist and professor Dennis de Moraes was cremated on Friday afternoon (7) at the Caju Cemetery, Rio de Janeiro Port region. The cause of death was not informed. The intellectual was the author, co -author and organizer of several books in the country and abroad. The most recent were The left and the 1964 coup (2024) and Sartre and the Press (2022).
Dênis Roberto Villas Boas de Moraes was a PhD in Communication and Culture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1993), with postdoctoral people at École des hautes études en sciences social (EHES, France, 2015) and the Latin American consequence of social sciences ( Clacso, Argentina, 2004-2005). He was a specialist in communication policies, critical media theory and political economy of communication. He was also a retired associate professor at the Institute of Art and Social Communication at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF).
On social networks the family shared the message “a huge loss in this difficult time when Dennis and its lucidity will be huge.”
In a note, the UFF Institute of Art and Social Communication regretted the teacher’s death and sympathized with family and friends.
