This Wednesday, August 31, 2022, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Cecilia Lopez, appointed to diego bautista as president of the Rural Development Agency of Colombia.

Bautista is an industrial engineer, a specialist in project evaluation from the Universidad de los Andes and a master’s degree in public and social policies from Pompeu Fabra. He has been a director, adviser and consultant in different entities of the Colombian Government (National Planning, Incoder, Presidency).
He also coordinated the 15-year prospective document Colombia Vision 2019 and has been in charge of management projects and public policies in international and cooperation organizations (IDB, World Bank and Usaid).
Likewise, he coordinated the express mission of recommendations for decentralization and was advisor to the Office of the High Commissioner for Peace during the negotiation process that led to the peace agreement with the extinct FARC guerrilla.

And he coordinated the Territorial Peace team in that office, participating in the design of the PDET model (Development Plans with a Territorial Approach).

He is the founder of the platform unlikely dialogues, organization that promotes and accompanies processes of understanding and exploration of consensus among leaders with diverse and opposing interests.
Currently, he is technical and territorial deputy director of the Nuestra Tierra Próspera program, financed by USAID, which supports the formalization of property in 79 municipalities in 7 strategic regions of the country.
