The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Cecilia Lopez Montano, took possession this Friday diego bautista as president of the Rural Development Agency (ADR).

“The effort that we will make from the Government to improve access and distribution of land with the Agrarian Reform will be historic and enormous. However, this will not be enough with the land. We must complement this initiative with projects and programs that generate income to improve the living conditions of rural residents, that ensure the availability of food for Colombians and that improve the competitiveness of all rural producers.Baptist stressed.

The new president of the ADR has extensive experience in the public sector. He has been a director, adviser and consultant in National Planning, Incoder and Presidency of the Republic. And coordinated the 15-year prospective document Vision Colombia 2019.
He has also been in charge of management projects and public policies in international and cooperation organizations, such as the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank and USAID. He also coordinated territorial development and decentralization reform projects.
Bautista indicated that under his administration “The Rural Development Agency will lead a transparent process of conception and execution of these productive and life bets in each territory, with the participation, inclusion and concurrence of all the rural actors present in each region“.

It should be noted that he was also an advisor to the Office of the High Commissioner for Peace during the negotiation process that led to the peace agreement with the extinct FARC guerrilla. He coordinated the Territorial Peace team in that office and participated in the design of the PDETs model (Development Plans with Territorial Focus).
In addition, he founded the Unlikely Dialogues Platform, organization that promotes and accompanies processes of understanding and exploration of consensus among leaders with diverse and opposing interests.
