Santo Domingo. – The General Directorate of Information and Defense of Social Security Affiliates (DIDA) launched a Christmas operation to supervise, monitor and defend the rights of members of the Dominican Social Security System (SDSS), deploying more than 100 promoters and technical supervisors in Social Security throughout the national territory.
This initiative aims to guide citizens, prevent violations and guarantee effective access to services during the festive season.
The operation is carried out in the regions North, South, East and West of the country, covering strategic points with high citizen attendance, and will remain active until the month of January, as part of a preventive strategy that seeks to reinforce orientation, monitoring, as well as the identification of possible violations of the rights of members.
When referring to the operation, the general director of the DIDA, Elías Báezstated that “our duty is for each member to know and exercise their rights; that is why we take to the streets and communities during the Christmas and New Year festivities.”
The institution identified more than 10,000 family members of deceased members who were unaware of the existence of resources available in the accounts of the Pension Fund Administrators (AFP), achieving the location of more than RD$1,000 million, which are currently in the orientation process for their retirement in accordance with the law.
Furthermore, more than 6,000 pensioners who were unaware of having the benefit granted by decree by the Executive Branch, of an approximate total of 26,000 pensions pending formalization, allowing the beneficiaries to initiate the necessary procedures for their inclusion on the payroll and the effective enjoyment of their right, work that significantly impacts the development of the pension system in favor of the affiliates.
Likewise, the institution executed more than 1,500 transfer processes from the Individual Capitalization System to the State Distribution System, during the months of March to November 2025, guaranteeing more favorable pensions to affiliates with acquired rights.
During the same period, the DIDA provided more than 85,000 attention to affiliates at the national level, which translated into more than 212,000 assistance, including orientation, accompaniment, reception of cases, monitoring and channeling to the corresponding entities of the system, reaffirming its role as guarantor of the rights of citizens in matters of social security.
These actions consolidate the DIDA as a close, preventive and decisive institution, aimed at ensuring that no affiliate loses their rights due to ignorance and the correct functioning of the Dominican Social Security System.
