Did loans grow in 2025? BCR reveals results of private loans

In 2025, the credits to the private sector maintained their upward trend. According to data from Central Reserve Bank (BCR), these loans grew 6.5% that year and totaled S/436,700 million.

This result reflects the highest rate since 2020 when it advanced 11.5%. According to the BCR, these credits include those granted by banks, financial institutions, municipal and rural savings banks, as well as cooperatives.

The entity detailed that, by currency, loans in soles increased by 5% last year when compared to what was registered in 2024. As for foreign currency, it had a variation of 12.2% during 2025.

WHAT ARE THE FASTEST GROWING CREDITS?

According to the BCR, by segment, loans to individuals registered a growth of 6.9% in one year, while those granted to companies registered an increase of 6.2%. The increase in the latter without considering the impact of amortizations and cancellations of the Reactiva Perú Program was 7%.

On the other hand, the Central Reserve Bank revealed that private sector deposits had an increase of 10.1%. In this case, savings deposits increased 17.3%, while time deposits fell 3.1%. As for the CTS, they increased by 10.5%.
