The dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo ordered the cancellation of the legal status of six foreign non-governmental organizations that had been operating in Nicaragua for several years.
The administrative resolution of the Ministry of the Interior (Migob), published in La Gaceta No. 107 of this Monday, June 13, 2022, indicates that the six NGOs did not register as foreign agents.

“The following Entities registered with the General Directorate of Registration and Control of Non-Profit Organizations of the Ministry of the Interior failed to comply with their obligations in accordance with the Laws that regulate them: Law No. 1115, Law No. 977 and its Regulations, as well as Law No. 1040”, indicates the resolution.
These are the canceled organizations:
1. Engineering World Health, United States citizen, registered on 01/27/2017, under Perpetual Number 6517.
2. Friends of the Americas, United States citizen, registered on 07/16/2008, under Perpetual Number 4152.
3. Giving for Living International, INC, originally from the United States, registered on 03/19/2009, under Perpetual Number 4323.
4. Research Triangle lnstitute, United States citizen, registered 28111/2006, under Perpetual Number 3577.
5. Awana International, originally from the United States, registered on 11/21/2007, under Perpetual Number 3958.
6. The Fyera Foundation, originally from the United States, registered on 09/09/2013, under Perpetual Number 5699.
The NGOs, according to the Government, did not report the financial statements “according to fiscal periods with detailed breakdowns Income, expenses, trial balance, details of donations, (origin, provenance and final beneficiary), violating article 34 numerals 7 and 24, of the Law No. 1115, article 38 numeral 5 of Law No. 977 and article 14, numeral 1, subsection b) of the Regulations of Law No. 977».
Last week the dictatorship also ordered the cancellation of the legal personality of 24 non-governmental organizations, all from countries that have sanctioned regime officials, including children of the dictatorial couple and Rosario Murillo.
