During the visit, a special session of the National Assembly of Belize will be held with the participation of Díaz-Canel.
The official note highlights that this visit will be the first by a Cuban president to Belize. He has not yet communicated about it from Havana.
Last December, Díaz-Canel also starred in the first visit by a Cuban president to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, a country that, like Belize, is a member of the Caribbean Community (Caricom).
During the visit, the president praised Caricom for its support to end the economic embargo that the United States has maintained for decades against Cuba.

On those dates, Díaz-Canel also participated in the eighth summit between Caricom and Cuba, held in Barbados, where the leaders of the Caribbean countries demanded the “immediate cessation” of the economic embargo.
