MIAMI, United States. — The Cuban ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel assured that the culprit of the war in Ukraine It is not Putin or the Moscow regime, but the US government.
The affirmations of the successor of the successor of Raúl Castro took place in a interview offered a few weeks ago to the Tunisian-Lebanese journalist Ghassan Ben Jeddou, president of the pan-Arab channel Al Mayadeenrecently broadcast in two parts on Cuban state television.
According to Díaz-Canel, Washington “has manipulated the origin of the conflict, and with its enormous media power it has created a feeling of contempt towards Russia.”
“I think that it has fueled Russophobia and has hidden the true causes of the conflict, and has put Russia in the role of the culprit. I really believe that the culprit of this conflict is the government of the United States itself, and this has a lot to do with what we know from history of how the Yankee empire acts,” said the designated president al Ghassan Ben Jeddou.
Díaz-Canel took advantage of the occasion to highlight the role played in the world order by Vladimir Putin and the Chinese ruler Xi Jinping, who —he maintained— are “under intense media fire from the communication transnationals subordinated to the Western powers.”
In this sense, the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) thanked both Putin and Xi for “the support they have given Cuba in the difficult moments the island is facing.”
In the case of Xi Jinping, the ruler stressed that he has carried out “peace efforts that, without a doubt, the West has tried to silence.”
Regarding the unrestricted support for the Moscow regime, Díaz-Canel affirmed that his regime “has ratified the continuity of the historic line of foreign policy of the Cuban Revolution, adjusted to principles, attached to the truth and contrary to compromises.”
