MIAMI, United States. — Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel today joined Castro’s offensive against the US embargo and assured that it is a policy that is “anchored in the past.”
Raúl Castro’s successor wrote on Twitter that, unlike his regime, the embargo is retrograde and not in keeping with the times.
“Cuba changes every day, and will continue to change. Cuba renews itself all the time. What does not change, what is not renewed, what is anchored in the past, is the blockade policy,” Díaz-Canel published.
The words of the dolphin of Castroism come after the presentation this Wednesday of the report “Need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez Grill.
I subscribe to every word of our Chancellor @BrunoRguezP: “Cuba changes every day, and will continue to change. Cuba renews itself all the time. What does not change, what is not renewed, what is anchored in the past, is the blockade policy”. #BestNoBlock pic.twitter.com/ckT4LGPJo1

The document, which will be voted on again at the next session of the United Nations General Assembly, to be held between November 2 and 3 in New York, maintains the usual rhetoric of the Havana regime about the negative impact of the blockade on the Island economy.
According to the Cuban foreign minister, there is new data that supposedly demonstrates the devastating impact of the embargo, such as the fact that the country would have suffered losses of almost 4 billion dollars between August 2021 and February 2022.
From Havana they also project the vision that Cuba’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) would also have grown last year had it not been for US sanctions.
Although Rodríguez Parrilla admitted that it is true that the Caribbean nation can buy food in other markets and even in the United States. He stated that “the blockade deprives Cuba of the financial resources necessary to make these purchases in the United States or to make similar purchases in third markets.”
