MADRID, Spain.- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel met this Friday with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, during an official visit to the Asian country.

Díaz-Canel, who had not visited China since November 2018, arrived in Beijing from Turkey, and had previously been in Russia, where together with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin unveiled a monument to Fidel Castro.
According to the EFE news agency, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said earlier this week at a press conference that Díaz-Canel would be the first president of Latin America and the Caribbean to visit the country after the XX Congress of the Communist Party of China (CCP) last October.
