MIAMI, United States. — Cuban ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel once again disqualified the citizens of the island who have taken to the streets in recent months.
It happened during the Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Union of Young Communists (UJC), which took place on October 22 in the Plenary Hall of the Central Committee of the Party. In his intervention, reproduced in full by the portal Cuban Presidencythe successor of Raúl Castro tried to minimize the credibility of the people who protest based on their status and social condition.
According to Díaz-Canel, everything starts from campaigns orchestrated from abroad to destroy the Cuban Revolution, to which, he assured, people who do not work or contribute to society respond.
“To achieve all these purposes, lazy people are used, people unrelated to study and work, they manipulate women with children who resort to these expressions. And there is an intensification and a reconfiguration of the counterrevolutionary media scene from abroad that today does not hide to say that it is training terrorist forces to attack Cuba, and that is allowed by the Government of the United States, “said the president.
The Diaz-Canel expressions They were similar to those used a few weeks ago, when thousands of Cubans took to the streets to demand the restoration of basic services after Hurricane Ian passed through the west of the country.
“They try to present that the country is ungoverned, that there is mistrust in the system, that we are a failed state; the assassination of the reputation of our institutions and our leaders is sought”.
In this sense, the dauphin of Castroism questioned the nature of the popular demonstrations of rejection of the island’s regime.
“They try to promote expressions and public demonstrations using barricades, with the concept that the people are facing the Government, that the humble are facing a Government that is not revolutionary; the slowness of the government response to change what has to be changed; that social justice has regressed to survival; that the government that is on the defensive is not a revolutionary government at the time; the matrix that there is a civil war,” he pointed out.
