MIAMI, United States. — Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel continues to call on public opinion in Cuba to vote Yes for the Family Code, which will be submitted to a popular referendum next Sunday.
In a meeting held at the Palace of the Revolution with representatives of various sectors related to the ruling party, Raúl Castro’s successor addressed several issues about the bill, which has generated divisions between Cubans inside and outside the Island.
According to Díaz-Canel, the Family Code is “a monumental work, due to the amount of knowledge and experiences that make it up.”
He also assured that it is an initiative of “a wonderful singularity”, because “it turned love into law, affection into law”.
