The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, arrived today at the Campeche International Airport, where he was received by Andrés Manuel López Obrador and other high-ranking Mexican officials.
López Obrador said that he wanted to thank him and the people of Cuba for sending doctors to collaborate in the development of the Mexican social assistance plans.
It is the fourth visit of the Cuban president to Mexico, in which he will discuss with López Obrador the issues of collaboration in public health and the supply of ballast for the Mayan train.
Both rulers will hold private interviews and between delegations. The latter have been scheduled for after noon today.
Authorities from the Mexican Institute of Social Security, an organization that executes the IMSS-Well-being Health Plan in which Cuban doctors participate, will be present.
The meeting was scheduled to be held at the Seventh Military Naval Region, located in Río Lerma.
Yesterday, Friday, a group of 63 Cuban doctors arrived in Mexico, completing the staff of 610 doctors from 30 specialties in order to cover the deficit that this nation presents in this line.
