The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, advocated for the recovery of freedom in Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua and Mexico. He highlighted the values of Hispanic heritage and announced that Madrid will award its International Medal to the United States on the 250th anniversary of its independence.
The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, defended the freedom of Venezuela and expressed her hope that countries like Cuba, Nicaragua and Mexico will manage to “recover their freedom and put an end to the narco-states that ultra-left dictators are establishing wherever they can.” This was stated this Tuesday through a video broadcast at The Hispanic Prosperity Gala, an event organized at Mar-a-Lago, the private residence of US President Donald Trump.
Ayuso is emerging as one of the most influential figures within the Popular Party (PP) in Spain. His relevance stands out as he presides over a community with an important and constantly growing Latin American presence, composed mostly of Venezuelan citizens.
Likewise, he assured that the lack of freedom in Venezuela is “the most important wound that must be healed,” after the departure of more than eight million people from whom “communism has taken everything,” he said.

The Madrid president expressed her solidarity with the region and expressed her desire that Cuba, Nicaragua and Mexico follow Argentina’s example to “break their chains” so that they can regain their freedom and “put an end to the narco-states that, under ultra-left dictatorships, destroy security and prosperity.”
He stated that he celebrates every step that the United States takes in defense of Hispanicity, since this means “defending the truth in history and a future of opportunities.” In this sense, he announced that in 2026 he will award the International Medal of the Community of Madrid to the North American country, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of its independence and in recognition for being the “main lighthouse of the free world.”
Ayuso assured in his message that the world would not be understood without the Hispanic vision, which is united by “joy, celebration, Christian humanism, miscegenation, family, law and Spanish as a common language.”
He also pointed out that the new world order needs our way of being so that North America, the rest of the American continent and Europe are freer places and warned that sadness, impoverishment and tyranny have gone too far, “polluting entire nations.”
