The National Association of Entrepreneurs of Colombia, Andi, on November 9 reported that they would extend in advance Bruce Mac Master’s term as its president. They also showed support for his work during the debates that took place during the tax reform process of the Gustavo Petro government.
hours later the Finance Minister Jose Antonio Ocampo, said in an interview with Yamid Amat that the dialogue with the union leader is “interrupted”. For the portfolio manager, the relationship with Mac Master “has been very difficult.”

“I’m waiting for him to have something positive to say so I can sit down and talk to him again, but he will only talk to me about negative things, because of course it’s no use for a Finance Minister to simply hear criticism. I want to hear positive proposals, of what to do”, assured Ocampo in the interview with Amat in Noticentro 1 of CM&, in relation to the president of Andi.
Likewise, the Minister of Finance assured that I would like to see positive proposals and not only negative ones, since the latter do not serve the government. Hence, he affirms that Mac Master “has been very negative, just as there have been many other union leaders who have been very positive.”
Along with this, Ocampo pointed out that although the relationship with the president of Andi has had difficulties, the dialogue with other business sectors has flowed.“The bulk of the production unions, including the bulk of the businessmen with whom I have spoken, have had positive proposals, many of which we have welcomed“, said.

The minister also assured that he has had approaches with other sectors of Andi, without the dialogue of Mac Master, with whom he has reached “many agreements.” Also, he stated that if the union leader has a “positive” attitude, he would be “pleased” to talk. “But if it’s to hit me, then it’s really not worth it,” she pointed out.

Before these statements became known, Andi’s board of directors issued a statement of support for its president and in which he also stated that the “promotion and construction of trust is fundamental, since in this way new opportunities for job creation are opened up, which, we believe, is the best vehicle for the social and economic sustainability of the country.”
