The starting goalkeeper of River Plate, Franco Armaniannounced his retirement from the Argentine national team on Sunday after being left out of Lionel Scaloni’s list of players called up for the next two rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Armani’s announcement of his retirement follows that of Ángel di María, also a multi-champion with the Albiceleste and who put an end to his participation in the national team after the victory in the Copa América held in the United States.
