According to the politician, far from being a “calm” or “quiet” campaign, the Frente Amplio prioritized a strategy of direct contact with communities and social organizations throughout the country.
“At least the Broad Front formula traveled through each of the country’s localities like never before,” said Di Candia, referring to the fact that territorial work made the difference in the results obtained. According to the leader, this effort allowed the Front to recover and strengthen ties within the country, where positive results were obtained compared to the previous elections.
Di Candia emphasized that the campaign focused less on media debates and more on a “face-to-face meeting” with voters, which he said was key to consolidating support at the grassroots.
However, Di Candia highlighted that, regardless of the victory of the left, the post-electoral challenge is great. “We will have to reach an agreement for the good of the country,” he said, emphasizing the need for consensus on crucial issues such as security, child poverty, education, environment, and transparency, especially in a context where no party will have a majority in deputies.
When asked about his political future, Di Candia was open to fulfilling the role that the Frente Amplio assigns him, whether at the national or departmental level. “I will be wherever the Front asks me to be, as always,” he stated.
