The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported this morning that it will continue The arrest of undocumented and wherever foreigners live illegally.
As part of these operations, dozens of homes were destroyed yesterday in Mata Mosquito, Bavaro, during an operation carried out by inspectors of the DGM in which they were arrested for repatriation purposes more than 500 undocumented Haitians.

Migration explained that it was a focus of land occupation by undocumented foreigners, which were arrested and taken to the Haina holiday to be repatriated during the course of today.
The intervention focused on the identification and withdrawal of illegal occupants in private land, with special attention to people in irregular immigration.

During the operation, it was verified that most occupants lacked legal documentation to reside in the country, corresponding to Haitian citizens. The DGM proceeded to arrest more than 500 undocumented people, who were transferred to the Haina Retention Center for due verification and repatriation process, in accordance with the General Migration Law 285-04.
The operation had the logistical support of the Special Unit of the National Police (created under Decree 668-22), the Army of the Dominican Republic and specialized tactical units. These instances collaborated in the dismantling of improvised zinc and wood structures that breached safety and occupation regulations.
