DGM detains 333 Haitians in operations in El Seibo and Higüey

DGM detiene a 333 haitianos en operativos en El Seibo e Higüey

El Seibo.- The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported that this Saturday stopped to 333 Haitians in an irregular immigration situation, during operations deployed in communities of El Seibo and the areas of Verón, Bávaro and Friusa, in Higüey.

The operational They were carried out by agents of the General Directorate of Immigration and directed by frigate captain Wander Peña Matos, and Army colonel Sergio Richiez Pérez.

Likewise, they had the collaboration of members of the National Army, the Dominican Navy, the Air Force, the National Police, the Public Ministry and the Quiet City Task Force (Ciutran).

According to the DGM, the detainees were transferred to interdiction centers immigration located in Benedito, El Seibo, and Haina, San Cristóbal, where a registration, biometric validation and purification process is carried out, prior to being returned to their country of origin following the established protocols.

Of those detained, 110 men and 44 womenwere found in communities of El Seibo, including Miches, while in Higüey 179 men were arrested.

The General Directorate of Migration stressed that the operations were carried out respecting human rights and current international regulations.
