The General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) informs that type G plates, used by Jeep-type vehicles, have already arrived in the country, so they are available to taxpayers.
From this Monday, the DGII is handing out license plates to keep up with the requests that have piled up.
The plates that were scheduled to receive during the last week June 2022 suffered a delay of 3 weeks, due to confinements in Shanghai, China, due to outbreaks of Covid-19, causing some owners of jeep-type vehicles to not have been able to obtain them on time and travel with expired provisional plates.

Before the situation, the DGII extended the validity of the provisional license plates of jeep-type vehicles that have expired from Friday, June 24, 2022 until next week, for which he requested the Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (DIGESETT) take into account the situation when inspecting vehicles.
