The general director of Customs (DGA), Eduardo -Yayo- Sanz Lovatónreported yesterday that as of September 2025 the institution has raised 195,203.32 million of pesos, a 6.08% more than the same period of the previous year.
He added that in the five years of management, more than 1.15 billion pesos have been collected.
He indicated that the collection levels of Customs make that institution the second collecting entity of the State, representing an average of between 22.64% of income between 2021 and 2024 and 3.4% of the gross domestic product in 2024.
Exports Dominican Republic exceeds US$13 billion
Sanz Lovaton offered his statements when exposing the role of customs for the Dominican economy, before authorities and students of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo. There he reported that in 2024, the exports exceeded 13,000 million dollars, becoming the top line largest currency generator and income for the national economy.
