The Health Department of the Federal District released doses of Coronavac vaccine for immunization of children aged 3 and 4 years with or without immunosuppression. These doses are part of the so-called xêpa. The immunization of this group is valid from tomorrow (21) in the Basic Health Units (UBS) of the Federal District.
“The objective is to avoid the loss of already opened vials, the popularly known vaccine xêpa”, said the Federal District government, in a note. Each vial of CoronaVac contains ten doses of the immunizer. Once opened, the shelf life is eight hours, and the rest cannot be used the next day. The orientation of the Ministry of Health is that these remaining doses are not lost.
Also according to the Department of Health, the vaccination of children with xêpa will only be valid in the last hour of operation of the vaccine room. Therefore, there is no guarantee of availability. During normal office hours, only 4-year-old children with comorbidity are allowed to be vaccinated, a condition that must be proven by means of a medical report or report.
