Officials of the Trafficking Investigations Division of the Corps of Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations achieved the arrest of a man involved in a transnational network of human trafficking.
The detainee was a key piece in a structure dedicated to the transfer of Venezuelans for later sexual exploitation in foreign territory.
The captured man, identified as Evelio José Rivas La Rosa (53), operated as in charge of logistics and the transfer of victims within the country. Its function was to mobilize people from the different states of the nation for later shipping to neighboring Trinidad and Tobago, where women were forced to sexual exploitation, the director of the detective body, Douglas Rico, reported on their social networks.
The capture of Rivas La Rosa was completed in the Guarapiche II sector, in the Altos de los Godos parish, Maturín municipality, Monagas state. In the place, the authorities managed to seize a Terios Cool brand truck, an outboard engine and a cell phone.
According to the scientific police these elements of criminal interest seized were linked to the illegal activities of this network of people.
The case has been put to the order of the Public Ministry, which will begin with the pertinent investigations with a view to establishing the criminal responsibilities that have to place and thus imput the detainee the crimes provided for in the legislation before a corresponding control court of the Monagas State.
