The opposition leader of Venezuela, Edmundo González Urrutia, arrived in the country on Wednesday night to complete an agenda that includes a meeting with the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader and a diplomatic commission. On the sidelines of the meeting there is a rumor that they would take the headquarters of that nation’s embassy in the country.
The space that is closed after the breakdown of diplomatic relations with Venezuela could only be invaded in complicity with the Dominican authorities, maintains Narciso Isa Conde, leader of the Caamañista Movement.
He assured in the program El Día that is broadcast on Telesistema channel 11 that the government must “protect that space to demonstrate that there is no collusion with the followers of González Urrutia.”

“The embassy is closed, it is Venezuelan property, there is a history of these types of attempts, such as the occasion of the coup d’état against Chávez, that was frustrated by a reaction of solidarity from the Dominican people,” said the leftist leader.
Visit
The Venezuelan opposition politician, who fights to direct the destinies of Venezuela, arrived last night on Dominican soil from Panama, where yesterday he had a meeting with the president of that nation, José Raúl Mulinowho expressed the “moral and political support” of his government.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the central purpose of González Urrutia’s visit is to express firm support for democracy, human rights and institutions in Venezuela.
He adds that the Venezuelan opponent will be accompanied by a delegation of eight former presidents who are members of the IDEA Group and its general secretary.
The act of support for González Urrutia, the text states, will be in the National Palace at 11:00 in the morning and will focus on the challenges and opportunities to strengthen democracy in Venezuela.
