Through a note published on social networks on Friday morning, it was announced that the Public Ministry knew that Juan Carlos Ozorio, a former deputy for the ANR (official party), had contacts with people linked to drug trafficking and money laundering. This after wiretapping authorized by Gustavo Amarilla, criminal judge of Organized Crime guarantees since November 2019.
Thus, it was also reported that the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (Senad) forwarded relevant data obtained during the investigation. The note is signed by prosecutors Lorena Ledesma, Deny Yoon Pak and Fabiana Molas and Ysaac Ferreira.
What is striking is that Zully Rolón, a Senad minister, has agreed to sign an agreement with Ozorio on December 3 precisely to fight against drug use. This, despite the information they already had about the now former congressman.

Martín Arévalo, national senator for the ANR (chartist), affirmed that Minister Rolón must resign because it is an organization that must be in charge of investigating drug traffickers, however, its head takes photos with one of them.

He pointed out that despite the data being handled, Rolón signed an agreement with a drug trafficker, turning the institution into a laughingstock.
“This lady has to step aside or otherwise, Abdo Benítez must ask her to resign. In addition, drug exports do not leave by air but by ships that had to be inspected by Customs and by the National Administration of Navigation and Ports. Those responsible must also resign, ”she said.

Juan Carlos Ozorio was referred to the Emboscada prison. In principle, he was to be confined in the Tacumbú prison in Asunción by order of Judge Rosarito Montanía, however, due to a protocol against Covid-19, said penitentiary is not yet enabled for the entry of new inmates.
Montanía admitted the accusation against Ozorio for money laundering, drug trafficking and criminal association in the framework of the operation called “A Ultranza Py”.
