Despite adverse results, MC says he will not be part of partisan alliances

The orange party was born in 1999 under the name of Convergence. By 2011, with the endorsement of the then Federal Electoral Institute (IFE, today INE), it became MC. Throughout its history, it has formed alliances with the PAN, PRD and PT, but for the 2021 elections it decided for the first time to run on its own.

That year he became governor of Nuevo León and mayor of Monterrey. But for the elections of June 5, he did not have the same luck.

Although MC had better results than other alliances and parties, it did not achieve any of the six governorships that were at stake and, in fact, it was well below the virtual winners.

For example, in the case of Aguascalientes, the PAN-PRI-PRD coalition obtained between 51.5 and 54.9% of the votes, according to the quick count of the state Electoral Institute. While MC barely reached
between 6.5% and 7.4%.

However, the orange party highlights that in 2016 and 2021, the parties that make up the Va por México coalition obtained together in Aguascalientes a vote of 84.70% and 56.4%, respectively, that is, much higher than what they achieved this year.

Dante Delgado even made a comparison with the party in power. “In 2016, Morena had less political presence than the Citizen Movement has in 2022. That is why we warn that the conditions are in place for MC to promote the project that will transform Mexico,” said the coordinator at a conference.
