The Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, Giorgio Jackson, met this Thursday with the leaders of the ruling party, on the verge of the next vote on the fifth withdrawal projects, which will take place next Monday in the Chamber of Deputies. and Deputies.
In this instance, both the constitutional reform of a fifth retirement of AFP – promoted mainly by pro-government deputies – will be voted, as well as the “alternative” project presented by the Government, which deals with a fifth restricted retirement.
After the meeting, the deputy for Social Convergence, Gonzalo Winter, He assured that “the idea of legislating” the project born from some of his peers such as Pamela Jiles (PH), René Alinco (PPD) and Jorge Durán (RN) will be rejected.
However, the parliamentarian stressed that “the government is quite open to dialogue about being able to put indications during the process.”
“So some variations could arise, but I cannot guarantee that with certainty,” added Winter, alluding to the fact that the Executive’s project suggests that the withdrawal of the AFPs can only be used to pay commercial debts, health expenses, mortgage loans, housing subsidies, payment of alimony.
Winter insisted that what is known as the “fifth withdrawal” in his opinion “generates problems”: “There is going to be a new injection of money into the economy all at once and that it is not going to come equally from different sectors of society, but mainly from the wealthiest sectors, which will generate a rise in prices that will also impact people who do not have pension funds, who are generally much poorer people than those who do have”.
