The legislator raised – in his presentation during a previous hour of the Chamber this Wednesday the 12th – a situation of insecurity in various locations in his department of Colonia, which for a month did not have a Police Chief as a result of some adaptations of national charges.
As he explained, this generated great instability, for which the Minister of the Interior and the Director of Coexistence and Citizen Security of the Ministry of the Interior went to various towns to listen to the proposals of civil society about the difficulties they are having due to these situations but , said Viera, after the visit everything remains the same.
There are cities – the representative commented – such as Rosario with more than 10,000 inhabitants that has only 12 troops at the police station, Colonia Valdense has 13 and Nueva Helvecia 16.
Likewise, criminal acts continue to take place in the department, the most tragic being a murder in Juan Lacaze, with no response from the Ministry other than transferring responsibility to other actors.
“Irresponsible” authorities for accusing medical professionals
The authorities of the Ministry publicly declared that doctors grant improper certifications, Viera commented, this being a serious fact that cannot be let go because it is implying that it is a generalized conduct without evidence, and that is at least irresponsible, limited the deputy.
According to the representative, the underlying problems remain unresolved, there is no management plan in the territory, the meaning of the High Dedication Operational Program (PADO) has been changed and there is no method of dialogue and community exchange since the security and citizen coexistence tables were eliminated and no exchange instrument was generated.
Now there is a new Chief of Police, we hope that progress can be made, we advocate for more instances of social dialogue and real support for the police, Viera concluded.
