Deputy Eduardo Valdes (Front of All) stressed this Monday “Lula’s great choice” and estimated that will win in the ballotalthough he warned about the risks of “very polarized” societies based on the electoral results in Brazil, and urged not to fall into antagonisms of “Capulets against Montagues”.

“It has been a great choice for Lula, I am sorry that others have another description”said the legislator, who chairs the Foreign Relations Committee of the Lower House, and valued that the 76-year-old former president and metallurgical leader has been imposed “by 48.3% or 48.5% against 43.2 of (Jair) Bolsonaro, when Bolsonaro is governing”.

Regarding the second round scheduled for October 30, Valdés shared his “expectation that (Lula) lacks very little“, barely “two points, point and a half”, to be the winner, and stated that he was optimistic since, in his vision, the PT candidate is finally “going to win.”

In statements made to Télam from the Café Las Palabras, where he exhibits his collection of objects linked to Argentine history, the deputy based his confidence on Lula’s victory in the ability to expand alliances which he attributed to the two-time president of Brazil.

In his analysis, Valdés stated that from Argentina it is necessary to “take note” of the “very polarized frameworks of society” that reflected the numbers of the election in Brazil, a regional process that exceeds that country, and maintained that “Latin America has to be thought from that place”, although with the precaution of not incurring in “sectarian” practices.

The legislator of the ruling party placed himself at the opposite end of that way of thinking about the world, linked to what some call the extreme right, by defining himself as someone who is interested in “egalitarian societies and who does not believe more than anyone else”, although later He assured that the differences should not call for “entering the system of the hatred of the other”.

“The first thing we have to do is not enter the system of hatred of the other, because where one enters that logic one becomes a hater, and surely there are good people in the different political spaces. You have to start working with those you can”, he called to promote dialogue and seek agreements between rival political sectors, and in that sense he summed up:” What we do not have to do is Capulets against Montagues “.
