This time it was the turn of the Vice Minister of Consumer Defense, Jorge Silva, to suffer due to the delay of a BoA flight, the OB977 with the Santa Cruz-La Paz route. His discomfort was such that the authority, in full flight, announced sanctions to the state airline and from Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) reported that the mishap on May 12, 2023 lasted exactly two hours and 11 minutes.
Through a statement posted on their social networks, they explained that the reason for the delay was due to the “procedures of check and adjustment of airplane air conditioning system”.
“However, before this unexpected situation, where the airline did its best to cope better, we offer our sincere apologies to our passengers, who are provided with a snack before departure from Viru Viru International Airportin order to reduce the wait and fulfilling fully with the compensations stipulated in the Supreme Decree 0285”, they indicated from BoA.
Before Vice Minister Silva expressed his inconvenience after registering a delay of more than three hours in BoA (according to what is heard in the video recorded at the time) and in full flight, the authority announced sanctions.
“We all have the complaint, miss, because we have been at the airport for more than three hours, and that is not correct. you know that there is a penalty that is imposed on the company that has a delay of more than two hours”, This is how the vice minister responded to the airline stewardess, according to a video circulating on social networks.
Finally the authority announced that it will make a representation with the respective complaints before the Authority for the Regulation and Supervision of Telecommunications and Transportation (ATT), because “it’s not the first time” that are given these kinds of situations.
