Walter Obando Licera submitted his resignation from the position of Vice Minister of Agriculture Development Family and Agricultural Infrastructure and Irrigation, which he had been performing since December 29, 2021.
Through Supreme Resolution No. 001-2022-Midagri, which was published this Friday in the newspaper El Peruano, Obando’s resignation was accepted.
The norm is endorsed by the Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Óscar Zea Choquechambi and the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo Terrones.
Obando Licera graduated as an agricultural engineer from the Pedro Ruiz Gallo National University. In addition, he has a master’s degree in Water Resources and Agricultural Economics at the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina.
He was a professor at the National University of Engineering (UNI), the Pedro Ruiz Gallo National University, the Continental University (Huancayo) and ESAN, between 2006 and 2011.
In 2018 he was appointed head of the National Water Authority (ANA). On the other hand, he was general director of Hydraulic Infrastructure of the former National Development Institute (INADE) and senior specialist of Surface and Underground Hydrology of the company Tecnología y Proyectos SA (TYPSA-Spain).
