Deputy Jesús Faría confirms that Tareck El Aissami is being investigated by the Judiciary

Jesús Faría denied that selling shares of state-owned companies is turning one's back on socialism

Jesús Faría, deputy for the PSUV in the 2020 National Assembly, explained that The Aissami «It is being investigated by different instances of the Judiciary.” He pointed out that many officials and important men in the economic sector are also being investigated.


The deputy of the National Assembly (AN) of 2020 Jesús Faría reported that the former Minister of Petroleum and former president of Petróleos de Venezuela (pdvsa)Tareck El Aissami is investigated for cases of corruption around the state company.

During an interview for Union Radiothe parliamentarian for the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) indicated that El Aissami «It is being investigated by different instances of the Judiciary.”

He added that not only the former minister is being investigated but also “multiple officials and men of great weight in the economic sector, that is what has been thrown.” He assured that the AN and the Maduro administration will act against corruption.

Deputy Faría said he did not know where El Aissami is at this time, but insisted that he is being investigated because “it is absolutely elementary, he was in a key position.”

Since March 17, when the anti-corruption operation began, no Maduro government official had confirmed whether El Aissami was being investigated for corruption schemes.

On April 5, the prosecutor appointed by the now-defunct constituent assembly, Tarek William Saab, refused to say whether there is any investigation or judicial proceeding underway against El Aissami. “I’m not going to autotube myself,” he said.

The first vice president of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, also refused to confirm on April 10 if they are investigating the former minister.

«It is not up to us to point out someone in particular, it is up to the agencies, in this case the Public Ministry and the investigative bodies. We do not dare to point to anyone from the party », he said at a PSUV press conference.
