Deputy from Cree asks to change the prosecutors of the Las Londras case for "negligence" and lack of "haste"

The deputy of Cree María René Álvarez presented this Monday a minute of communication to recommend to the Attorney General of the State Juan Lanchipa to change the prosecutors commission that is investigating the Londras case due to the lack of “celerity and the negligence that has been taking place in the process”.

It’s been more than six months, no response in the face of injustice and the crimes committed in Las Londras, a property located in the municipality of Guarayos. That is why we have presented a minute of communication for the State Attorney General. I want to emphasize that it is a second intervention that we have with this authority”, said the parliamentarian.

In the minute, the deputy makes four recommendations to Lanchipa. In the first, he asks him to supervise the proceedings and case activities. Later, he asks him to give instructions to expedite the investigations. As a third request, it is suggested that the prosecutors be changed in the event of negligence and as a last request, it is required to carry out all the procedures within the established deadlines.

Last February, Álvarez held a first meeting with the attorney general, in the city of Sucre, who committed his efforts to resolve this case as soon as possible. However, the process has not progressed much, both in the investigations and in the capture of those presumed responsible for the crimes committed in Las Londras.

It was on October 28, 2021, when on the Las Londras property, in the municipality of El Puente, a group of armed hooded men kidnapped 17 peopleincluding police, journalists and civilians. To date, only two people have been arrested and there are three other unexecuted arrest warrants.
